Mickel "Odie"
Mootoo
Oct 23, 1991 — Sep 9, 2024
Mickel Aundre Daniel Mootoo, affectionately known as "Odie," was born on October 23, 1991, in Martinez, California, to his loving mother, Ingrid Mootoo-McKenzie. Odie was one of two children, alongside his sister, Savana McKenzie.
Odie attended and graduated from Freedom High School. He further pursued his passion for automotive technology by attending the Universal Technical Institute in Sacramento, CA, where he earned his degree as an Automotive Technician. Throughout his career, Odie had the privilege of working with remarkable teams at Livermore Ford/Lincoln, Big Valley, and All Star Ford.
Beyond his professional achievements, Odie was known for his love of skateboarding, his artistic talents, and a deep fascination—some might say an obsession—with cars. His fun-loving spirit, warm heart, and respectful nature endeared him to everyone he met, and his welcoming smile will be remembered by all.
Odie was called to glory on September 9, 2024. He leaves behind his mother, Ingrid, and his sister, Savana, as well as his cherished grandparents, Patricia and Daniel. He will be lovingly remembered by his Aunties: Allison, Stacy, and Ini; Uncle: Akan; Great Aunties: Judy, Denise, and Mary; Great Uncle: Winston; and Cousins: Onica, Kymani, Bentley, Mia, Devin, and Oaklynn. Odie was a friend to many and held dear in the hearts of those he touched. Special mentions go to Markisha Ward and Family, Joel John, Tracy (Samantha) Smith, Vernon Johnson and Family, Pinto Family and Gail Smith-Drake.
His family, friends, and all who knew him will forever treasure his memory.
