Neil
Lawlor
Aug 26, 1946 — Oct 1, 2021
Pittsburg
Neil passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 after a 15-day fight from COVID and COVID Pneumonia. He was vaccinated earlier this year. He was hospitalized on the 5 th day. He seemed to have gotten better on day 6 or 7 and we all thought he has coming home. But on day 10, still in the hospital, his heart just couldn't fight any longer.
Neil was born in San Francisco, and grew up in the Richmond district. He went to Saint Monica's on Geary and Washington High School. He made friends easily and he made people smile. Neil was drafted and did serve in Vietnam. Then was stationed at San Francisco Presidio to finish out his military service.
In 1979 they moved to Pittsburg to their first home. His job was a daily commute to SF. He was in the Lithographers union for 24 years. Neil found the time to help out at school or with sports when they needed dads for the job. He was full of one liners and we named those, Neilisums and laugh. Those one liners have been around for decades. Neil's favorite pastime was to stay home and enjoy T.V. Loved a good ole Western, and loved Saturday WWE (old school) wrestling. In his golden years he also enjoyed Hallmark movies.
Neil is survived by his wife Leslie, married in 1974 and their 3 children: Ryan, Debra and Ross, and between them, they gave them 5 amazing grandchildren: Lucas, Jack, Liam, Jace and Rosalia.
Friends and family are invited to Neil's Celebration of life on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
