Neno Battaglia passed away on Monday due to a sudden illness. He lived a full life with open arms and a generous spirit.
Neno was born and raised in Pittsburg, Ca. He attended Pittsburg schools and graduated in 1951. He joined the Navy after high school serving four years, mostly in the Orient. After an honorable discharge from the Navy he worked for Continental Can for 16 years, as well as serving our community as a volunteer firefighter. In 1971 he started a career with the Pittsburg School District and retired in 1994.
Neno is survived by his loving wife Betty of 57 years; devoted children Karen, Julie, and Claude; He leaves lasting memories with his four grandchildren, Alexis, Joelle, Frankie, and Nolan and his great-grandchildren Alyssia, Elaina, Kelsey, Alani, and Antonio. His brother Andy as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Paul and his parents Claude and Jennie and brother Richard.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, October 10, 2013 4:00pm with a vigil 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, October 11, 2013 10:00am at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
