Nicolas Carrillo Medina, 74, of Pittsburg, passed away surrounded by his family at home, on March 18, 2022, after a 5-month battle with cancer.

Nicolas was born on April 12, 1947, to Pedro and Monica Medina in Zacatecas, Mexico.

In 1972 Nic immigrated to the United Sates. This is when he met Margaret Roberts at a friend's house. Nic and Margaret enjoyed 47 years of wedded bliss and went on to have 4 children, Nicolas, Luis, Rashawnda and Raquel.

Nic worked many construction jobs to support his family. He worked for 30 years at William G. McCullough Co. as an underground construction worker. In 2008, Nic retired and spent his time traveling to Oregon to visit his son, going on rides to Bodega Bay, watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoying a bonfire in his backyard.

Nic was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Monica Medina, siblings Alicia Leaños, Fidel Medina, Maria de Jesus Jimenez Medina, Maria de Rosario Medina, Jose Luis Medina, and brothers in law Roy and James Roberts whom he considered brothers. He is survived by his wife Margaret, sons Nicolas (Melissa), Luis (Rachel), daughters Rashawnda Lanham (Ross), Raquel and niece Daisy Labao (Jon). Grandchildren Maria, Mateo, Havanna, Jose, Lorelai, Gabriella, Jon Kenai, Gianna, Isaiah, and Josephine. Siblings Margarita Rodriguez, Marcos Medina, Pedro Medina, Maria de Lourdes Medina and Maria de Carmen Medina. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm with a rosary at 4:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.

Funeral liturgy Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 1:30pm at Church of the Good Shepherd.
