Norma Martin peacefully passed away at home on April 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. Born November 29, 1933 in New Bedford, MA.
Norma's adventurous spirit took her to California in 1978 with all four of her children. Together, they began a new chapter in their lives. She spent the remainder of her life in California. She loved the Lord Jesus and was strong in her Christian faith. She was proud of her Portuguese heritage and celebrated it at every opportunity. Norma enjoyed sports, including fishing, Oakland A's Baseball and San Francisco 49ers Football. She had a fabulous sense of humor and was always joking around.  She loved dancing and music and could often be found playing the organ.
Norma is survived by her brothers Joseph (Emily), and Robert (Linda), and her children Brenda (Jeff), Joyce, Louis (Sherry), Vicki (Eric), 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Georgianna (Cabral) Silvia, and brother Norman (Agnes).
Celebration of Norma's life will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
