Pablito Atanacio Santos passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at John Muir Hospital in Concord, CA. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit and positive outlook in life.

Pablito was born on March 8, 1927 in Marikina Rizal. He is the 2nd to the eldest son of Hugo Santos and Adriana Atanacio. He had 3 brothers and 4 sisters. On May 7, 1942 he joined the Recognized Guerilla Hunter's ROTC organization to serve as part of the US Army and he was inducted on January 1, 1943. Known with his rank as Private Pablito A. Santos, he was assigned to the 1st Battalion "B" Co 44 Regt. Unit during the World War II/ Philippine Revolution.

On February 1968 he met Rosario Llena, a local from Bicol region who went with a relative just to work in Marikina Rizal. Very timid at first, but through the help of his friends Pablito courted Rosario. Started with a friendship, they fell in love and their life's love story together began to blossom. Pablito proposed to Rosario after almost 2 years and on November 17, 1969, they exchanged wedding vows. The couple decided to stay in Marikina, Rizal as they started their own family and on August 5, 1970 their first child was born followed by 3 more children.

Pablito was a very loving, caring, thoughtful, giving, inspiring, and hardworking husband to his wife Rosario and father to his 4 children. He used to have multiple jobs such as Shoe Maker, Bus Conductor and a Bicycle Driver. Pablito spent most of his life providing and making sure his wife and children have what they need and even sacrificing things for himself along the way.

As a privilege of being a World War II Veteran and with the intention of finding a better opportunity to provide the best future to his family especially to his children, Pablito decided to migrate to the United States in 1999 and Rosario followed him in 2001. Upon arrival to the United States, Pablito and Rosario spent their life living in Pittsburg, California. On September 22, 2014 their 3 children finally arrived in the United States and it was one of the happiest memory Pablito brought with him.

His interest included spending time with family, hanging out with friends and playing word game puzzles on his spare time. He goes to church on Sundays with his wife and he loves to pray, that even on the last minute of his consciousness he prayed for forgiveness and favors from the Lord, not only for himself but also for others.

Pablito was an active member of the Veteran Federation of the Philippines and The American Legion.

Pablito is survived by his loving wife Rosario Llena Santos; his four children, Marilou, Lilibeth, Jenny, and Renato; his 4 grandchildren, John Bryan, John Paulo, John Cedie, and Stacey Trisha; and his youngest sibling, Arturo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo Santos and Adriana Atanacio; 6 siblings, Basilio, Soccoro, Rosalinda, Domingo, Iluminada, and Carmelita.

Friends and family are invited on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 for visitation at 4:00pm with funeral services at 6:00pm at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Interment will be on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00am at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA 95620.
