Pat Cataldo, born to parents Loreto and Anna Megna of Antioch, passed away peacefully after complications from a stroke earlier this week. Pat lived a long and full life having recently celebrated her 99th birthday. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and pursuing her hobbies of painting, gardening and travelling. She will be missed but will leave us all with fond memories to reflect upon.
Pat was raised in Antioch and Pittsburg, attending Pittsburg schools and working at Western California Canneries and Hardy Nix Jewelry and Gifts. She moved to Concord/Clayton after her marriage to Salvatore Cataldo on December 10, 1933 where they raised their son, Dr. Ronald Cataldo. Afterwards, they moved to Pittsburg where she was active as a member of Good shepherd Catholic Church, The Italian-Catholic Federation and The Catholic Daughters of America.
Pat is survived by her son Ron and his wife Jeanette and her grandsons; Ronald Jr. and Todd; great-grandchildren Ronald III and Alexandra and siblings Adeline Rider and Sal, Tom and Jack Megna.
Family and friends are invited to Pat's funeral service at 10:00AM on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Pittsburg, burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch. Her family has requested that any donations in her memory be made to New Nation Church International, 4180 Treat Blvd., Suite 100, Concord, CA 94518.
