Peggy Golden passed away on May 20, 2026, at the age of 83, having spent her adult life in Berkeley, California, where she lived with her lifetime partner and husband, Randy Fingland, in a sunny apartment on Roosevelt Street, where they raised their son, Dylan.

Born on April 1, 1943, Peggy spent her childhood in Joplin, Missouri, prior to adventuring to Berkeley.  She pursued her higher education in the San Francisco Bay Area, earning her undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University and later obtaining a Master's degree in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, an interest reflective of her compassionate spirit.

Her career in publishing began with San Francisco based Ramparts magazine, while she later dedicated many years to the University of California Press, where she coordinated the production of academic literature.

She is survived by her husband Randy, son Dylan and his wife Suzette, and grandchildren Tina and Isaiah.
