Our father passed peacefully on the morning of January 19, 2022, surrounded by our family. He lived an amazing 90 years. Married for 70 years to our mom, Gloria, who, like us, will miss him tremendously.

Dad loved his 7 children Barbara, Patricia (Wayne Searle), Diane (Bruce Scotto), Tom, Cynthia (Yash Nyznyk), Christine (Tom Mays) and Annette (Art Khaliq); his 16 grandchildren Billy (Holly), Greg, Aleece, Michael, Mimi, Jennifer (Justin Cardinale), Nicholas (Nicole), Teresa (Luke Perry), Tommy (Jacquie), Dominic (Chelsea), Peter, Cameron, Tommy, Mark, Jaclyn (Colby Isaacson), Ryan (Kendall); 16 great-grandchildren (Brady, Matty, Ashley, Alyssa, Stella, Johnathan, Juliana, Dominic, Christopher, Piper, Tommy, Cassie, Delyse, Vincent, Ryland and Jayce), his large extended family, and many friends.  He always enjoyed our family gatherings.

He began his career as a young 14-year-old lad selling "Enea's Borden Delivery" ice cream to the soldiers at the river waterfront as they disembarked in town during World War II. Then, at age 16, he began working as a salesman for Sol Berg at "Sol's" clothing store.  In 1955, he began working as an insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life, and eventually with Prudential.  Dad also enjoyed working as an associate at Sears where he sold appliances.

He liked serving in the church, which he did as a lector for 23 years, he served on the Liturgy Committee assisting the Pastor with planning, and he assisted with the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), a process through which non-baptized adults enter the Catholic Church.

Our Dad also served as a City of Pittsburg Planning Commissioner from 2002 to 2009, offering vision to the development of the community.

Dad loved a good challenge and developed the skills of a handyman, working on projects around the house and cars.

Music and the arts were always important to dad and mom, and they supported the local community theatres. Dad played the saxophone and flute in high school under Clarence Fornwald, and then played under Emilio Civita, Felix Urbina and Chito Perez's Latin-flavored big bands for several years! He became one of the founding members of the Pittsburg Entertainment & Arts Hall of Fame (PEAHOF).  He was one of the original Board members and eventually the second president. He was a proponent and spokesperson for many of the early Pittsburg artists who were inducted into the PEAHOF. In 2018, he was inducted into the PEAHOF for his musical talent and contributions. His Pittsburg High School Class of '49 was very important to him, and he enjoyed leading the committee to successful class reunions for many years. And last, but not least, our father always looked forward to having coffee and breakfast with his buddies in town.
