Ray M.
Lucido
Mar 7, 1934 — Jan 6, 2026
Ray M. Lucido passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 91. Born and raised in Pittsburg, California, Ray spent the majority of his life in the community he loved, with additional chapters in Scottsdale, Arizona; Roseville, California; and ultimately Brentwood, California, where he moved to be closer to his five children.
A proud alumnus of Pittsburg High School and the University of San Francisco, Ray earned his bachelor's degree in Business and began his career as an accountant for Shell Oil Company in Martinez. Though successful, Ray felt called to forge his own path. With his trademark determination and work ethic, he returned to Pittsburg to pursue his dream of business ownership. In the early 1960s, he opened Melody TV & Appliance on Railroad Avenue, a shop that became a beloved fixture in town. There, Ray sold televisions and appliances to generations of Pittsburg families, building lifelong friendships and a loyal customer base along the way.
Ray was an avid hunter and found pure joy soaring above Mount Diablo in his Cessna. A devoted San Francisco 49ers fan, he cherished attending several Super Bowls with his family during the 1980s and early 1990s.
Ray's legacy lives on through his five children—Theresa Guidi (Franco), Mark Lucido, Frank Lucido, Mike Lucido (Diane), and Joanna Balestreri (Frank)—as well as his ten grandchildren and six great‑grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In accordance with the family's wishes, a private celebration of Ray's life will be held at a later date.
