Obituary

Reynaldo Aguilar Hijosa was 87 years old when he passed away after a yearlong battle with lung cancer on November 27, 2022, in Pittsburg, CA.

He was born on July 20, 1935, to Arsenio and Maria Aguilar Hijosa in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.  After Reynaldo graduated from high school, he started working different jobs until he was hired to work at the Clark Air Force Base in Angeles City, Pampanga as a Warehouse inspector for 20 years prior to migrating to the US.

He met his wife Virginia Dizon Maniti in Angeles City, and got married on October 13, 1963, and have 7 children.

He migrated in the US in April 1985 along with his whole family, lived in Concord for 3 years and Pittsburg for 34 years.  He started working different jobs until he was hired again as a Warehouse worker for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) in Oakland Army Base for 15 years prior to retiring at 65 yrs of age.  Through the years, Reynaldo enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to Guitar solos, Bossa Nova, Jazz and especially Christian and Gospel music.  He loves watching Boxing, Tennis, Basketball and American Football.

Reynaldo was predeceased by his father Arsenio, mother Maria, sister Lydia, brothers Gualberto, Dante and Ernesto.  Survived by his siblings Corazon, Patria, Leticia and Serafin.

He is also survived by his spouse Virginia Maniti Hijosa, children Shereelyn, Edwin, Ronald (Kristina) Anna Lyn (Mark), Anna Liza (Rodney), Rein (Athena) & Vernon Joy, along with his 8 grandchildren, Roderick, Ryan, Aidan, Rachel, Nadia, Kirsten, Gabrielle, Roman, and his 3 great grands, Rylan James, Skylar and Chloe.

His family wishes to extend thanks to Epic Care for his yearlong care and Bridge Hospice during his final days.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00am with a funeral service beginning at 12:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Reception will follow at The Renewal Church at 1210 Solari Street, Pittsburg, CA  94565.
