After successfully overcoming cancer (twice) and multiple other health issues, Richard E. Florez passed away peacefully Saturday, he was surrounded by his family. Richard was born in Oakdale, CA and graduated from Liberty High School. After serving in the US Army & Army Reserves for 3 years, he enjoyed a successful 31 year career with General Motors. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria; his devoted children Rick Berumen of Sacramento, Debra Florez of New York, Richard Florez Jr. of Discover Bay, his grandchildren Richard (Tre) and Jenae Florez of Pittsburg, sister Cathleen Arrollo of Las Vegas, and his loyal canine companion Kato. He is also preceded by his sister Gloria Snow, of Stockton. The sound of his ever-present music and his sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial service on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 11:00am at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
