Obituary

Passed away surrounded by his family on Oct. 4, 2013, three days before his 88th birthday. He was a fifth generation Californian whose ancestors helped settle the central valley during the gold rush era. He served as a Private First Class 1944-1946 in battle during WWII and attended Cal Berkeley. He worked in the reinforcing steel business all of his life and to this day was known as a "Great Guy" who was honest and dependable by all that he worked with. He passed "with his boots on" working to the very end before succumbing to cancer. Dick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey; his two children, Gary and Melissa; sisters Ruth and Adele. A military service will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA, October 24th at 10:45. Reception to follow.
