Rita Maria Gott passed away suddenly and peacefully last Tuesday. She touched many people with her positive attitude and gentle spirit.
Rita Maria Grassi was born in Falmenta, Italy and came to America in 1936 at the age of 2 and the family settled in Nichols, CA. in 1936. She graduated from Mt. Diablo High School and then had a 34 year career with AT&T. She was one of the first women to work a man's job in the Bay Area as a splicer. She was very active in her church and enjoyed her children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known for her caring of the people around her.
Rita is survived by her devoted children: Julie Siddal, Michael Gott, Paul Gott and Lisa Gott all from the Bay Area, grandchildren: Paul Gott Jr. of Bay Point, Michelle Gott of Sandy, OR, Angela Vasquez of Toppenish, WA, Jessica Anderson of Wellington, CO, Amanda Villard of Craig, CO and Kenneth Gott of Craig, CO, as well as many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Eugene Grassi of Pittsburg. She was preceded in death by her former husband and companion, Thomas Gott of Pittsburg. Her generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 6:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of the World Church.
