Robert Edward Bagwell peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, after a courageous 4-year struggle with dementia. Robert was born in Asheville, NC the middle child of three boys.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19, serving his country for over 9 years. During his military career, including his service in Vietnam, he was awarded many medals and commendations. After military life he became a Pittsburg Police officer serving on the department for 20 years. While working at the PPD he was also a Drill Sergeant and teacher at the Los Medanos Police Academy for several years making an impact and touching lives in the law enforcement world. He enjoyed everything about being a serviceman that even after retirement he was actively involved at the Pittsburg Elk's Lodge and the VFW.  A very social man, he loved to talk to anyone that would listen. He had a passion for music and dancing that stuck with him through his final days.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Mae. Robert is survived by his daughter Stacy, his son-in-law David (Lumpy), his granddaughter Jordan of Brentwood, CA, his son Shannon of Carthage, MO and his brother William (Bill) of Asheville, NC.

Memorial service Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 11:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
