Obituary

Bob passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday morning, Oct 11, 2013 at the age of 86. Bob was born in Pittsburg to Frank and Ollie Renzenbrink (deceased). He had one sister Violet Shearer (deceased). He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1945 where he played football, basketball, baseball and participated in track. He also played the trumpet in the band.
After high school, Bob briefly attended San Jose State before entering the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of the U.S. Army Parachute School, completing and becoming certified as a qualified Parachutist. Bob worked and retired from Dow Chemical Co.
In 1950, Bob married the love of his life Rose (Trezza) Renzenbrink. They were married for 62 years before her death in 2012. He was a loving father to two daughters and their families: Barbara (Gary deceased) Ostertag, and Sandra Myers. Adoring grandfather to Ryan (Ginny) Ostertag, Eric (Heather) Ostertag and Jason Myers. He had 4 great grandchildren: Max, Ben, Ella and Grace Ostertag.
Bob was the ultimate outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and golfing. He and his wife Rose enjoyed their many trips to Reno thru the years. Bob was a longtime member of the Pittsburg Elks Lodge (Past Exalted Ruler) and the ARNAMA. He will forever be remembered for his fantastic sense of humor and great story telling.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 10:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity of your choice.
