Robert passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021 at home with his wife by his side. He fought a very short but valiant battle with cancer. Robert joined the military at age 18, where he had the opportunity to travel abroad, when he left the military he moved to Phoenix, AZ to be close to family, where several years later he met his wife, Pamela. In 2014 Robert and Pamela made Pittsburg, California their forever home.

Robert's military training made him almost unstoppable force for anything he set his mind out to accomplish. He did not believe in handouts and relied on no one for assistance. Robert believed in good old fashioned hard work with integrity and ethics, and this value carried him very far in life.

Robert had a smile that could light up a room, and he loved to pull jokes on friends and family. His enthusiasm for laughter was irresistible, and no one could stay somber around him for long. A very few select people truly knew Robert on a very deep level, those who were lucky enough to really know Robert, knew that he was the most generous, compassionate, devoted, caring, funny, loving and gentle man you could ever meet. He always stood up for the underdogs in life and the things that morally right.

He loved dogs, and will be missed by his constant companion Kali. He loved boating, fishing, shooting and remodeling his home with his wife.

Robert will be greatly missed, but has made his way home to heaven to be with all the friends and family that have gone before him.

Robert is preceded in life by his wife Pamela Revel, brother Richard Revel, brother-in law Rick Chastain his son Robert Smith, Nieces Jasmine and Christy.
