Robert Glenn Van Horn passed away after a long illness on May 17. He was a gifted musician – an extraordinary guitarist, vocalist and songwriter.
Robert was born in Richmond, California to Warren G. Van Horn and Imogene I. Van Horn, and graduated from Concord High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Patti) Van Horn, and they were married for more than forty-three years. By day, Robert was an Enrober Operator for Annabelle's Candy Company for thirty-five years. By night, he was lead guitarist in several bands, including the Raleigh Hills Gang, Midnight Riders, Rolling Thunder, and the Bad Boys. Robert was an avid golfer and bowler. He also enjoyed playing table tennis and billiards.
Robert is survived by his mother, Jean Van Horn; children Amy Alanes-Bryant (Donny) of Pittsburg and Jeff Van Horn (Nicole) of Bay Point; and grandchildren Alyssa, Janessa, and Baylee Van Horn, and Brandon Bryant. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Patti; father, Warren; and brother, Duane.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation and celebration of Robert's life on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Viewing will be from 10:30-11:30 am and the service will be held from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, at the Pittsburg Funeral Home. Private burial to follow.
