A beautiful life came to final rest on March 22, 2026, as our beloved father, Roberto Dalaza Herren, age 87, peacefully passed away at his home in Pittsburg. Born in La Union, Philippines, Roberto attended Jose Rizal High School in Manila before beginning a life of adventure as a merchant marine.

Roberto led a full and blessed life, marked by a deep commitment to his work and those he loved. After traveling the world at sea, he settled into a long career as a professional furniture finisher. He was a man of many passions, including fishing, bowling, and tending to his home garden. His family will fondly remember him at the grill, barbecuing oysters during their many gatherings.

Roberto is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lydia Garlit Herren; his children, Jerry (Shirley), Jr. (Susan), Eloise (Steven), Elizabeth (Joe), Ramona (Jose), Kelly (Hanna), and Lynn (Lonnell); as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy will follow at Church of the Good Shepherd beginning at 11:30 am. Committal services will follow at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch.
