Rodney "Bubba" Shaull II of Lafayette, sadly left us on Friday, February 2nd, 2024. Rodney was born December 12th, 1970 to the late Kathleen Shaull and Rodney Shaull I.

Rodney graduated from College Park High School. He went straight to work and spent most of his adult life working for a family owned plumbing business, Roto-Rooter, in Contra Costa County. He worked as a plumber for many years but quickly earned the title of a foreman. He took this job as a young man not knowing it at the time, but this is where he would gain his soon life long friends which became more like family. Rodney dedicated 23 years of service to the Bristol Family and was as loyal as they come.

The Bristol family sold in 2018 and Rodney continued to work for the new owners up until an opportunity of a lifetime presented itself. He went to the former owner of Roto-Rooter and one of his closest friends, with the idea of purchasing Paddock Bowl.

It was in February of 2020 that Rodney became the General Manager of Paddock Bowl. The same place he had so many memories growing up in. It's very likely if you drove by Paddock any day of the week, you could spot his big Ram truck parked on the side. He spent seven days a week working there, even through Covid, up until his passing.

He spent most of his childhood and adult life bowling at Paddock Bowl. Rodney was passionate and loved bowling. He earned many 300 and 800 series rings, championships and tournaments. Due to health reasons, Rodney took a break from bowling for a few years. It was just this last year, his closest group of friends convinced him to join a league team with them. He accepted and continued to bowl with them every Wednesday night up until his passing.

If he wasn't bowling, he was near the water fishing or crabbing on his boat. If he could have parked his RV near an ocean and fished everyday, this how we believe he would have retired.

Rodney was one of a kind. He loved country music, nothing like a road trip and George Strait. He was always there for the ones he loved. He thought his circle was small, but thats defined by the person themselves. There wasn't a place you could go with Rodney that someone didn't seem to know him. He was the friend who always showed up early for everyone's event but somehow snuck out to leave without anyone noticing.

Rodney did not have children of his own but he became Uncle Bub to so many. He was always there, whether it was a birthday or graduation. He got joy out of spoiling them and making sure gifts were going just perfect enough to annoy the parent.

Rodney had a love for dogs beyond measure. He is now joined again with his babies, Bandit and Toby. Rodney's wishes before he passed were for all his belongings to be donated to animals in his Memory.

He is survived by his sister Kelli Shaull-Babcock (Mitchell), nephew Zachary, nieces Alexandra and Mackenzi, great nephew Declan and great niece Zelda. All of which live in Clyde, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his  parents, Rodney I and Kathleen Shaull. Grandparents Hal and Jeanne Shaull and George and Altha Morey
