Obituary

Ronald R. Brown, 74, of Pittsburg, CA, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2022. Ron was born on August 23, 1948, to Edgar and Ruth Brown in Muskogee, OK, and he was the youngest of 5 children.  The family relocated to Pittsburg when Ronnie was just a boy and grew up in the Parkside area. Ron graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1966.  Following graduation Ron went on to serve in the US Army.
In 1971, he met the love of his life, Marie.  They wed in 1972 and celebrated 50 years of marriage in Feb. 2022.  Their union would result in two children, Tami and Ronald, who joined their sister Doris, who Ron proudly considered and raised as his own.
Ron worked as a retail clerk for Safeway for over 30 years. After retirement, he loved to travel, read, bowl and enjoy his favorite sports teams, the Oakland A's, Oklahoma Sooners and his hometown Pittsburg Pirates.
Ron is predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Carol and Shirley. He is survived by his wife, Marie; his brothers, W.L. (Rose); and Harold; his children, Tami (Jeff) Lane, Ronald, Doris and Gloria (Frankie) Ochoa; and his 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, whom he adored. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Tinka and Shorty and his cat Thunder.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Noon at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Pittsburg CA with a reception to follow.
