Long time resident of Pittsburg, Rose Marie Lucido, passed away in Fresno, Ca. She was the daughter of Sal and Caterina Davi. She was wife of the late Joe Lucido, originally from Martinez, Ca. They were married for fifty years. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Grace Scanapico of Antioch. Rose has two sons, Sal Lucido and wife Vicki of Antioch as well as Rog Lucido and wife Vincie of Fresno, Ca. She leaves behind grandchildren, Adrienne, Joseph, Vincent , Simon, Timothy, Danielle, Darci and Tori. She also had 14 great grandchildren (Noah, Zani, Gracie, Ava, John,Enzo, Valentina Rose, Gianna, Rita, Dashiell, Persephonie Rose, Mila Rose, Kaden and Olivia Rose ). Rose was preceded in death by her three brothers Barney, Ratzi and Sal. She was active in her Catholic faith at both St. Peter Martyr and Good Shepherd parishes. She was a eucharistic Minister and member of the YLI, Catholic Daughters of America and the Italian Catholic Federation. She was especially dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Besides wife and mother she volunteered her time at Kaiser Clinic for over 25 years.
In her younger years she was affectionately called the Avon Lady for her respected work with the women in her neighborhood and beyond. As a young woman she was often complemented on her movie star beauty. Our mother was smart and witty and had a cadre of friends and relatives with whom she frequented that included Rose Seeno, Ann Russo, Mary Lupe, Ellie Valenzuela, Georgadine Cattolico and Barbara Otto.
Rose was a talented artist which included painting, pottery and most proficient in the arts of crochet and embroidery. Most evident was her love for all who knew her. Special thanks to the caregivers from Valentine Guest House that made our mom last month's filled with the highest honor of respect and quality of life. They called her Nana as we all do.
A memorial mass will be held at Good Shepherd Church at 10am on 8/17/13. Inurnment following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch, immediately after.
