Our mother Rose went peacefully to the Lord on Valentine's Day 2015, at the age 88. She worked 40 years at Lanzafame's Furniture Co. in Pittsburg, retiring in 1988. She grew up in Colorado and Fresno, but lived most of her life in Pittsburg after meeting and marrying James P. Riso. She was a dedicated member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Pittsburg and very active as a Eucharistic Minister. For 21 years, she was a leader of the Vision Prayer Group where she touched many lives with her spiritual guidance. In 2012, she received a Dedication with special blessings from Pope Benedict XVI. She was also a longtime member of the YLI.
Rose is survived by her 6 children: Peter Riso (Debbie), Marietta Elliott, Phyllis Riso, Natalie Caputo (Ralph), Gina Morales, Jimmy Riso (Liza). Grandchildren: Leanne Morford (Kathleen), Marissa Elliott, Giancarlo Riso, Vincent & Stephen Caputo, Vanessa Morales, and Justin & Brenden Riso. Three great grandchildren: Chloe, Oliver, and Liliana. Her brothers Frank and Natale Rocco, sister Betty Cardinale as well as sisters-in-law: Angie Trotter & Lori Rocco and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James P. Riso, parents Natale and Filomena Rocco, granddaughter Vanessa Riso and brother Jim Rocco.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a vigil at 7pm at Church of the Good Shepherd. Funeral liturgy Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Inurnment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
