Rose
Roman
Aug 30, 1944 — Jan 26, 2026
Rose Roman (Rosas), 81, of Antioch, CA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born in Edinburg, TX on August 30, 1944, she was the sixth of sixteen children born to Jesus and Maria Rosas. Her family moved to Oakley, CA in 1952, where she graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1962 and became a certified beautician soon afterwards. Rose married Joseph Roman, of Antioch in August of 1967; they were married for 58 years and traveled widely together with loved ones throughout their marriage.
Rose was a dedicated Catholic who served at Holy Rosary School in Antioch for approximately 20 years. Throughout her tenure, she fulfilled the roles of school secretary and teacher's aide. Additionally, she was an avid San Francisco Giants fan. If the Giants were on television, you could rest assured that she would be sitting in her spot on the couch watching the game.
Rose played bocce ball for 30 years in the Antioch and Contra Costa County Bocce Ball Federations, enjoying time with friends at the courts and after match meals at Skipolini's restaurant in Antioch.
Rose's greatest gift was being a Nana. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment when family gathered. Family meant everything to her, and she supported everyone she knew. Unassuming, beautiful, and kind - Rose was always rooting for others.
Rose is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Roman; her children; Anthony (Jen), Carlie (Kathy) and Janine; grandchildren Dylan (Kelly), Rylie (Jordan), Keely, Joseph (Francessca), Lukas, Pypper, Shea and Rose; great-grandchildren Aiden and Qira; and siblings Gracie, Jane, Carlos, Frank, Tony, Dolores, Linda, Lisa, and Rita. Also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria; siblings Carol, Mary, Rosita, Victor, Joe, and Tencha; nieces Sandy, Stacy, Andrea, Marci; and nephews Nick and Barry.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Rose please send donations to a charity of your choice.
