Obituary

RoseAnn Elizabeth Harris, born July 26, 1932, in Pittsburg, California, peacefully passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Spyglass Senior Villa II, in Oakley at the age of 84. She was a native and lifelong resident of Pittsburg. She was a homemaker for 55 years. She worked in the Five and Dime Store, local and Monterey canneries, and Pittsburg Steel Mill in her earlier years. She attended schools in Pittsburg and graduated from Monterey High School. In her later years she worked for Dr. Jack Barbieri and Dr. Jong Dae Kim. She was a former member of St. Peter Martyr Catholic Parish and the Good Shepherd Catholic Parish in Pittsburg. She was very active donating much of her time at St. Peter Martyr Parochial School. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, bookwork, and gathering with family and friends for the holidays and parties, but her most passionate fulfillment was the joy of taking care of her family, children, grandchildren and friends, and creating lasting memories in Aptos for 25 years.
RoseAnn was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and godmother. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, George Harris, her brother Frank Aiello, brother-in-law Zully Mendoza, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tony and Terry Harris. Her surviving children are Jolyn Harris, Tom and Sheila Harris, Shelly and Dino Carpino, and Kerri and Bill Gay. Her surviving grandchildren are Jackie and Jorge Martinez, Rachael Harris, Thomas and Gianna Carpino, Billy and Rachel Gay III, Taylor Gay, great-grandsons Julian Martinez and Nicholas Gay, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Mamie Aiello, sister Marie Mendoza, sister-in-law Judy Aiello, and niece Nanette Carrillo.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00am at the Good Shepherd Church. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
