Obituary

Rudy Garcia, age 82, passed away peacefully Sunday at home in Pittsburg with his family at his side. Born the only son of Antonio Garcia and Rose Rubio, Rudy was a native of Pittsburg. After serving in the U.S. Army, Rudy enjoyed a 30 year career at the Concord Naval Weapons Station before retiring in 1993.

Rudy was a faithful 49er fan, enjoyed season tickets for several years. He also enjoyed classic cars and Western movies.
Rudy is survived by his daughter, Paula Reyes, son-in-law Dee, and grandson Jacob as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Antonia Viramontes and Ruth Pifer, his son, Steven and his wife Carmen Cano Garcia.

Devoted grandfather, Rudy was affectionately known by Jacob as "Boo Boo." Rudy's son-in-law, Dee provided around the clock care for him since July 2016, allowing Rudy to be home with his family. He will be missed immeasurably.

The family would like to express our gratitude for the excellent care and support provided by the VA Martinez - Home Based Primary Care Team.
If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to ARF - Pets and Vets (arflife.org) 2890 Mitchell Dr., Walnut Creek, CA 94598.
