After a blessed and fruitful life, Ruth passed quietly, surrounded by many loved ones, on September 6 at the age of 104. Ruth was a member of pioneer Antioch and Pittsburg families. She was a homemaker, dry cleaner, teacher's aide, a long time employee of Style Bridal Shop in Pittsburg, and a founding member of Pittsburg Rendezvous Club. By far her larger role was as mom, grandma and great grandmother. She will be remembered for her smile, wit, insight and raviolis.
Ruth is survived by her daughters Barbara (Harry) Dillon of Pittsburg, Cynthia (Vince) Aiello, Antioch and Son Russ (Patti) Belleci, Alamo. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 26 great great grandchildren with one on the way – a legacy of 53 descendants almost as incredible as her long life. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell A. (Rizzie) Belleci, grandson Jim Dillon, parents Joaquin & Mary Rodrigues and all of her 9 siblings and scores of beloved friends and relatives lost over the last century.
Ruth had a quadruple heart bypass in 2001 at the age of 87, giving her an additional 17 active healthy years. She asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association in her name, instead of flowers.
