Ruthie Lee Duncan was born on April 30, 1952 in Oak Ridge, Louisiana to the late James Elijah Bryant and Janie Bryant. Ruthie departed this life on December 26, 2019. Ruthie moved to Pittsburg, California in 1959 with her parents and siblings. She attended local schools and graduated from Pittsburg Senior High School in 1970. She accepted the Lord and Savior at an early age, she was baptized at Solomon Temple Baptist Church by the late Rev. Dr. M.T. Thompson.

Ruthie worked at the Glass Containers for 9 years before opening Charm School. She met and married Robert Duncan Sr., on November 17, 1971; to this union two sons were born, Robert Duncan Jr., and Randy Duncan. Ruthie loved and honored her sons every day of her life. They were her world!

Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, James Elijah Bryant and Janie Bryant and four brothers: Willie Jr., Isaiah, George and James. She leaves to mourn her two sons Robert Jr,. and Randolph; three grandchildren, Elijah Duncan, Elizabeth Gonzales and Robin Mackey; one brother, John Henry Bryant of Concord, Ca., three sisters: Beatrice Threatts of Stockton, Ca., Mercy Dee Holmes of Antioch, Ca., and Maggie Sue Ball of Richmond, Ca., one brother-in-law Trendell Ball of Richmond, Ca., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 10:00am with a funeral service at 11:00am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
