Salud Salazar, 84, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023. She was born on February 12, 1939 to Lourdes Fallorina and Benigno Canonce in Leyte, Philippines. She was raised and educated in Manila where she studied nursing for a short time. She emigrated to Pittsburg, CA in 1968 and married later that year.
Until illness slowed her down, Salud lived an active and busy life with her family, friends and church. She held many positions throughout her life, her last and longest tenure was in document processing at First Image. She enjoyed socializing, spending time with family, cooking, shopping, planting/gardening and an occasional trip to a casino. Salud was the epitome of love and kindness and was loved by many. She is survived by her daughters Evelyn Salazar, Lorna Salazar McFarland and Natalia Salazar Johnson. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren Elijah Salazar, Isaac Northern, Tatiana Johnson, Zachary McFarland and Amaya Johnson, great grandchildren Kimora and Isaac Junior, and siblings Cynthia Greely, Louise Murphy, Ralph Mostella, George Mostella and Judy Mostella.

Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2024, from 2-6:00pm with a rosary at 4pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 10:30am at Church of The Good Shepherd.
