Salvador Rosales Padilla, a resident of Concord, California had passed away on November 25, 2025, at exactly 5:16 pm at the age of 89.

Salvador was born on February 17, 1936, to Marcial and Jacinta (née Rosales) Padilla in Cebu City, Philippines. He was the eldest of 12 children. He was fondly called "Bador" by his siblings, "Buddy" to his friends and to some, he was known as "Sal".

In 1953, Bador completed his secondary education from Samar Trade School in Samar, Philippines. He went on to pursue a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at NAMEI Polytechnic Institute located in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. In 1967, he became the 48th Philippine-licensed Naval Architect and Marine Engineer and since then, he focused his energies to the design and construction of ships joining the ranks of those who pioneered in LCTs, LSTs, LCMs and barges.

He married his first wife, Rosa (née Tabones) on July 2, 1961. Together, they migrated legally to the United States with their youngest daughter on December 1, 1990. Under the sponsorship of his father, Marcial, Bador hoped to live the American Dream.

Due to the recession in the 90s, Bador was unable to find work in his chosen field of shipbuilding. So instead, he utilized the skills that he already possessed along with newly discovered ones to work in multiple industries as he gradually settled in the United States. Some of the companies that he worked for were The Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, Virginia as a prep cook and The Engineering Enterprise in Alameda, California as a utility person. After being widowed in 2001, Bador married his second wife, Marian (née Macasero) on April 22, 2006.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren from his predeceased first wife, Rosa; sons, Norman and Lawrence; daughters, Rowena, Christine and Niña; grandchildren, David, Jason, Elijah, Lianne, Genesis, Asher, Zelira, and Raizel; sons-in-law, Bernie and Carlyle; daughter-in-law, Candy; second wife, Marian; and eight remaining siblings, Beatrice, Mercedes, Wilfredo, Justina, Rolando, Rosario, Helena, and Marcial, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral service on December 19, 2025, at 11:00am, both days at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch.
