Obituary

Salvatore Buccellato, 80, blessed Heaven January 20, 2013. Sam was born and raised in Pittsburg to the late Antonio and Catherine Buccellato. He lived in Pittsburg until he moved his own family to Martinez in 1973. Born into a family
of 11, Sam's whole life was filled with family and love. He was married to his life long love Ruth (Walker) Buccellato, who passed away in 2008, for 53 years. Together they raised 3 boys who grew up just as strong as their father. Sam served in the United States Navy from 1950 until 1952. During those years he became the Heavyweight Navy boxing champion. After the Navy Sam worked at Safeway as a truck driver for 35 years. People who loved him could almost always find him playing bocce, placing football bets, or at any of the few breakfast
joints where he liked to stay for hours on end. Sam is survived by his 3 sons: Bill Buccellato (Paula), John Buccellato (Jackie), and Paul Buccellato (JoAnn). Also by his 6 grandchildren
who called this man their Nanu: Gary, Marisa, Randy, Justine, Monica, and Jennifer. He is also survived by 2 of his brothers: Leo, and Jim (Lois) and his fluffy dog Noe. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A celebration of life on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00am both days at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Committal services Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch. Please join us in celebrating this wonderful man's life.
