Salvatore Macaluso Jr., passed away at Sutter Delta Hospital in June, 2023 following a lingering illness.,   Sal was the only son of Sara Billeci Macaluso of Pittsburg and Salvatore Macaluso, Sr. of Sicily. His half-sisters were Mary Macaluso McCooey, Betty Macaluso Enea and Annie Macaluso Ripoli. The Macaluso family was one of the first Sicilian families to immigrate to Pittsburg.

Sal graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1960 and developed a life-long love of classic cars, speed boats and motorcycles.  He was a member of local motorcycle clubs.  He lived in Sonora for some time before a return to Pittsburg in recent years.

Sal will be interred in the Macaluso family burial site in Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch with his mother and father.  A celebration of his life will be set at a later date.
