Shiranee Marie Fernando passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at the age of 83. A devoted wife, mother, teacher, and avid gardener, she spent her life nurturing those around her.

Shiranee was born on December 12, 1942, in Kalutara, Srilanka—She was the youngest of seven children and grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large and loving family.

She was a devoted high school teacher of English, Religion, and Math for 30 years.

Shiranee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George M. Fernando, who passed away in 1992, and her siblings: Brothers Lesley, Eric, Demian, Hilary, Quintin, and sister Irene

Shiranee is survived by her children, Dilanth, Dilinie, and Reshmini; her grandchildren, Dileesha, Avanthi, Paul, Neth, and Joseph

Shiranee Fernando leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
