It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Terry Watkins on January 27, 2025, at the age of 80. Terry was born on October 2, 1944 in Richmond, CA, to Ralph and Ernestine Watkins and grew up in Pittsburg, where he spent countless days at his home away from home, the Pittsburg Boys Club. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1962 and participated in various sports including football, baseball, and wrestling.  Following graduation, Terry served in the United States Army and returned to Pittsburg in 1965. Shortly after, he met his future wife, Judy, and they married in 1967.

After getting married, Terry pursued his education earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at California State University, Hayward, and a Master's degree at Golden Gate University. During this time, he continued working for Shell Oil in Martinez and later for the United States Post Office. He ultimately began his career as a Probation Officer in Solano County, where he worked for 32 years. Terry and Judy raised their family in Fairfield and relocated to Discovery Bay in 2012.

Terry was passionate about golfing and treasured his golf trips with family and friends. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers, Oakland A's, and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved to travel, read, work out, solve crossword puzzles, and enjoyed trivia and music. Terry cherished time with family and was the biggest cheerleader for his grandsons Kamren and Keegan in their various sports endeavors. He was often considered the life of the party (having never met a stranger) and was always ready for an adventure or a new experience.

Terry was preceded in death by his brothers Leon and Bill; brothers-in-law Joe Bertoglio and Bill Billeci; and sister-in-law Josephine Watkins. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; son Gary; daughter Kristin Carey (Sean); adoring grandsons Kamren and Keegan; brothers Tom (Joan), Jim (Maria) and sister Sue Allen; sisters-in-law Valorie Watkins, Liz Bertoglio, and Gail Billeci; as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. He will remain forever in our hearts.

Private military honors and celebration of life will be held.
