Theodore Robert "Terry" Mercurio's Obituary
Theodore Robert "Terry" Mercurio passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Sparks, Nevada. He was born to Joseph and Josephine Mercurio in Pittsburg, California. Terry attended Pittsburg schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1963. He worked at U.S. Steel then went to Chico State and graduated in 1969. He enjoyed playing basketball in the city league until his knees gave out. In 1970, he started to work at Pittsburg High School teaching History until retirement after 35 years. Terry liked to watch and read about all sports especially basketball. He then moved to Sparks, Nevada. There he liked to gamble and dine out with close friends Paul and Sharon Bruno.
Terry is survived by his sister Norma Viscuso (Joseph), nieces and nephews Kim (Leonor), Alan (Melissa), Joey (Monica) and Little Joey IV; uncle and aunt Ben and Nanette Mercurio. Many close cousins and very best friends Horace and Kathy Russo.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:30am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Donations can be made in Terry's name to the Wounded Warriors Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
