Theresa L. Hix passed peacefully in her own home on Saturday, April 25th, 2026. She was born December 18th 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Theresa moved to California as a little girl and was raised by her grandparents, Martha and Sterling Rose. Theresa started her career at Seaboard Trucking, then KLM Trucking. She began working for Antioch Unified School District in the 80's as a sub, and retired from Antioch High School as front office secretary. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church her entire life, where she spent many hours volunteering at her church, always putting Jesus and sharing the gospel as the priority of her life.

Theresa was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband of 33 years, Jerry Lynn Hix. She never remarried. He was her one and only true love.

Theresa is survived by her two sons and their wives, Jerry & Deanna Hix of El Mirage, AZ and Jim & Bobbilee Hix of Antioch, CA. 7 grandchildren, Steffani, Jerry Tré, Jessyka and her fiance, Mark; Brian, Jimmy and his wife, Adamary; Sammy and his wife, Jenny; and Gabriella. 8 great-grandchildren, Leialoha, Delilah, Emberlee, Adriana, Damian, Amelia and soon to be born, Rosse and Maleko.

She is also survived by 3 siblings Pearl Jordan, Ron Gullet and his wife Kaye; and Robert Duvall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aldon and Lula Gullett and mother, Terie James. Also her sisters, Raelene Pruitt and Janice Manus.

Funeral services and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11:30 am at the Reach Church 11 Texas Street, Antioch, CA.  Burial will follow at Oak View Memorial Cemetery in Antioch. Reception immediately to follow back at Reach Church.
