Timi Tumbaga passed away peacefully on September 22, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones. She succumbed to the effects of a rare auto-immune disease called Scleroderma.
She was born in Walnut Creek, was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg where she attended Parkside Elementary, Hillview Jr. High, graduated from Pittsburg High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University.
After graduating from college she embarked on a varied career path. She was a successful department manager for Macy's for ten years. She moved on and became a Merchandiser for Peugeot Watches and then the Movado Group. Timi also worked for the Department of Commerce during the 2000 Census as the Field Operations manager and the 2010 Census as the Local Office Manager.
Her passion though during her work career was the redevelopment of the City of Pittsburg's Downtown. She was the Downtown Coordinator for the city, coordinated the community events for most of the past ten years such as the Farmer's Market, Classic Car Show, Holiday Parade, The California Zinfandel Championship and Zinfandel Dinner. Her commitment and dedication to these events kept her going right 'til the very end.
