Tom Pisani passed away with his loving wife by his side on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Born July 2, 1931, to Ernesto and Angelina (Tapella) Pisani, in Pittsburg, CA. He graduated in 1949 from Pittsburg High School.
Tom started his working career at the early age of ten selling newspapers at Camp Stoneman Military Base. In high school, he worked at the Modern Drug Store and upon graduation; he went to work at the John Manville plant. At twenty years old, he went on to a stellar forty two-year career with the Shell Oil Company in Martinez CA. Tom loved working for Shell Oil Refinery and was a company man in every sense of the word. Working his way up from a skilled laborer to apprentice insulator to Supervisor/Foreman. He always looked forward to taking his family to the annual company picnics. In 1960, Tom married the love of his life Annette DiMercurio and later welcomed twins Tommy and Tami.
Tom and Annette purchased their first home on Mariposa Dr. in Pittsburg. Later, they purchased property on Hillcrest Road in Antioch, CA and built a custom home. Then built another home on Neroly Road in Oakley; CA. Tom was a devoted husband and father and could accomplish any task that needed to be done around a home. He built a two-story deck off the master bedroom, expanded windows in the kitchen and bedrooms, landscaped, and was a master at catching gophers and moles with his best companion "Dusty Cat." Every year he would plant a garden full of delicious tomatoes, zucchini and the biggest butternut squash you ever saw.
Tom enjoyed golf and spending his days at the Delta View Golf Course. Tom and Annette traveled extensively. Among their journeys were unforgettable trips to Canada, Egypt, Italy, Greece, Germany, Yugoslavia and Turkey but their favorite place was always the French Quarters in New Orleans. It was the music, food and nightlife that he loved. Tom attended St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic church every Sunday and most Wednesday's. He appreciated the church leadership and fellowship.
Tom is survived by his wife, Annette, children, Johnny DeStefano, Christy Favalora (Anthony), Tom A. Pisani (Debbi) and Tami Pisani Dennis (Gary). His grandchildren, Anthony Favalora Jr., Garrick Ridolfi, Chelsie DeStefano, Thomas J. Pisani and Angelina Pisani Dennis and many friends who were like family to him. Tom is preceded in death by his beloved parents and sister, (Mary Pisani Seedig,).
Funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 10:30am at St. Ignatius of Antioch.
