On Monday, October 11, 2021, Valerie T. Romero-Lopez, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away at the age of 61 years old. Valerie was born on April 6, 1960 in Walnut Creek, California and was also a lifelong resident of Pittsburg. Valerie was self employed and owned a successful marketing business with her husband Daniel Lopez. Valerie lived for her family and loved enjoying life with her family.

Valerie and Daniel were happily married for 20 years on November 17, 2000. Valerie loved her community and was a Charter member of the Northern California Rotary Club and looked forward every year to their convention. It was a perfect opportunity to travel around the world. She loved seeing new places but she would also enjoy a quick trip to the ocean or even spend a week in Tahoe a couple of times a year. Any chance Valerie had, she would go cheer for her children and grandchildren on many sporting events they may have. She was always down to go on a trip with her family, if it was a day trip to the snow or zoo, or even if it was halfway around the world. She even enjoyed watching her family travel, and whenever we would go anywhere she would say "stranger danger" to be safe, it was her way of saying I love you and to enjoy. Heritage was really important to Valerie and she used any moment she had to spread her knowledge with her family. She would enjoy her free time researching her family tree line and even if you had a little or a lot of relation with Valerie you were her family. Valerie enjoyed connecting with her family via Facebook, and she loved to see all the pictures of all her family.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Daniel Lopez; children, Sabrina Contreras (Efrem Contreras), Selena Vasquez, and Raul Berdiago Jr (Hillary Berdiago); Father, Edward Romero; Siblings, Martha Romero, Richard Romero (Melanie Romero), and Teena Romero; 10 Grandchildren, Montrel Contreras (Hanicia Contreras), Lorenzo Contreras, Jose Vasquez, Eliza Vasquez, Neiko Contreras, Kaitlyn Berdiago, Tallon Berdiago, Elijah Contreras, Marcello Vasquez, and Isaiah Contreras; and two Great-Grandchildren, Ayden Contreras, and Adrian Contreras. Valerie is preceded in death by her Mother, Lucy Romero; Son-In-Law, Jose Vasquez; Siblings, Rosie Romero, and Baby Richard; Grandparents, Tiburcio and Guadalupe Garcia and Diego and Rosie Romero; Uncles, Frank Garcia and Salvador Torres; and Niece, Ameeya McDonald.

Valerie would want everyone she loved or knew her to continue to stay safe. She was so careful when it came to COVID-19 and in the end she still succumbed to this deadly virus. Even though the vaccine in the end did not work for her, she would still continue to let her loved one's to get vaccinated, get their booster shots when available and even vaccinate their children when the time is available. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has taken so many of our loved ones. Valerie had so much more life to live, her life was cut too short due to Covid-19. Valerie had a beautiful smile and she will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
