Obituary

Verna Sabrina Colombana Casillas passed away at the age of 60 in Concord, California on Monday, January 30, 2023. Verna was born on November 26, 1962 in San Francisco, California to the parents of Marta Violeta Ayala and Elvio Octavio Colombana. Verna is survived by her husband Jose Manual Andres, two step parents, Rosa Colombana and Alfredo Hurtado, and her five siblings, Carla, Pieralisa, Henry, Michelle, and Elvio, Jr.
Verna leaves behind her two children, Octavio and Blanca, and her five grandchildren, Melanie Sabrina Casillas, Anthony Joshua Casillas, Isiah Octavio Casillas, Octavio Antonio Casillas, Jr., and Amiyah-Shanise Catalina Annalise Powell. Verna also leaves behind two nieces Desiree Rosa and Natalie Colombana Walsh, and her nephew Anthony Colombana Pardini.  She was preceded in death by both her parents and her granddaughter Alillia Jade Casillas.

Verna was a devoted mother to her children and ever more devoted to her grandchildren. She loved music, to sing and dance, had a contagious laugh, superior memory recall; was an amazing cook, and brilliant at crossword puzzles. She will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, in Pittsburg, California.
