Virgelia Gutierrez Terrado's Obituary
Our beloved Virgelia "Lily" Gutierrez Terrado of Concord, passed away on August 11, 2018 at the age of 83. She is survived by her three children, Mercedes Terrado-Hornshuh, Marjorie Beaton (Will), & Arcade John Terrado; her grandchildren, Lauren & Alex Beaton & Elizabeth Hornshuh, & two sisters in Manila, Philippines: Emerita Campos & Alejandra Gaspar.
Lily was an exuberant & energetic woman, who was very spiritual, hard-working, & compassionate towards everyone who crossed her path. She was a devout Catholic & a member of the Good Shepherd Church, the Fil-American Association, & the Santo Niño Filipino Catholic Society. She moved to the Bay Area in 1955 from Binmaley, Pangasinan in the Philippines, and opened one of the first Filipino specialty stores in Pittsburg. She received her vocational license & certification to open her home care business, Alpine Home, to which she devoted over 30 years helping many seniors. She was married to Arcade Marquez Terrado for 40 years, until he passed in 1995. She loved traveling, cooking, playing slots at the casinos, singing, ballroom dancing & entertaining.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Sunday, August 19 at 2pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Monday, August 20th at 10:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
We bid a warm Aloha 'Oe to our beloved mother, Nana, auntie, & friend.
