Virginia Buono, passed away on August 4, 2016 at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch at the age of 87. She was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg. She met a prisoner of war and was later married in Italy to Validoro Buono. She worked as an usher at the California Theater and the Cannery during the tomato and peach seasons. She retired from the Antioch Convalescent Hospital. She enjoyed playing games on her computer, playing rummy with her daughters, doing search word puzzles and loved watching the Haunting.
Virginia is survived by her 3 children, Patrick Buono, Sarah Bank, and Sue Brown, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Validoro Buono, son Validoro Jr., parents Giuseppe and Sarah San Filippo, sisters Rose Scarzoni and Antoinette Nyberg, brothers Dominic and Phillip San Filippo.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00am with a chapel blessing at 10:30am at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch
