Virginia “Virgie” Heredia's Obituary
Beloved mother of Caroline Nunez, Bea Relei, and Elizabeth Heredia; precious grandmother to Ceara Kennerly, Che Nunez, Satomi Cadena, Mia Wetsch and Javier Heredia; cherished great-grandmother to 19 beautiful children and great-great grandmother to 1 baby girl and 1 baby boy on the way. Refugio Heredia, her beloved husband of 62 years, precedes her in death along with both her parents, Vicenta and Baldomero Matamoros, sisters Mary Osuna and Irene Matamoros; brothers Miguel, Roberto, Marcellino and Baldomero Matamoros.
Virgie was born in Visalia, CA. At the age of 14, she began working at The Cannery to help support her family. She was very active socially, holding several titles with the Latin American Women's League and Catholic Daughters and was a devoted member of the St. Peter Martyr Church. She babysat several children with whom she remained close with through the years. She enjoyed bowling, cross-stitch, sewing, watching novellas and making people laugh.
Graveside service will be held on March 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
