William went to his heavenly home with our Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Sacramento, California at the age of 68 years old.

William will be remembered by his loving wife of 43 years Stephanie Stanek, his wonderful father Roosevelt Salters, and his 3 beautiful children Jason O'Brien Henson (Pawn Henson), Stephania Theresa Stanek (Alfredo Tolentino) and Dominic William Stanek.  Siblings: Sherrie Lynn (Salters) Clarke, Gerald Lamont Salters and Rodney Leroy Salters.  Grandchildren: Jazmyne Henson, Jason Henson Jr., Julian Henson and Easton Tolentino Stanek. Great Grandson: Azai Henson. Nephew and niece: Warren and Chloe. Former spouse Julianna Henson (mother of Jason O'Brien Henson).

William joins in eternal life his beloved mother Rhudine (Carr) Salters and father Willie Lee Walden, Sister Debbie (Salters) Bassett and his Grandmother Christean (Minnie) Carr.

William has greatly impacted his family with his expression of exuberant kindness and patience, always taking the time to let them know how much he loves and cares about them. William's intimate relationship with God was impactful in keeping his family guided in their faith. He knew that in God's love we can find fulfillment that no human can provide, where you'll find all the answers. He knew just how precious our time on Earth is. His family's hearts will remain forever full of William's love and sweet spirit.

He loved playing games and enjoyed a good laugh especially with family. Everyone who knew him knew how proud he was of the people he loved. His humor was contagious, he could always lighten the mood. He wrote poetry and loved playing music (bongos & organ and) dance and singing. At times while entertaining friends' family he'd include his impression of his favorite comedian Richard Pryor, having taken his Pryor routine to the stage on karaoke night. He was a social butterfly and was known for being kind to even strangers. He's also well known for his love of good food, chocolate cake being his favorite (especially his mom's).

William had a passion for sports and working out. He was a wonderful athlete and excellent basketball player. He played football, basketball, and graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas. He also played baseball for Torrejon High School in Madrid, Spain. He went on to serve two tours of duty with the United Stated Navy during the end of the Vietnam conflict. He traveled the world serving on the Air Carrier ships, USS Forrestal & USS Constellation. Later he served in the U.S. Coast Guard then went on to work in security services.

2 Timothy 4:6-8

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."

In a little while the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you also will live.

William, we know how lucky we were to have you here. Yet we know you'll always be with us from heaven. "The best is yet to come".

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 4:00pm at The Bay Church 4725 Evora Road, Concord, California. 94520
