William Killings, Jr. was born July 28, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois to William and Ernestine Killings. He grew up in Pittsburg, CA, along with his siblings, Sarah, Yvonne (deceased), Denise, Juanita, and Henry. He graduated from Pittsburg Sr. High School and later attended classes at Los Medanos College, Pittsburg, CA.
William believed on and received Jesus Christ as his personal savior at Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg at a young age.
He worked as an apprentice baker at Colonial Donuts in Oakland, CA., and as a Greeter at Sam's Club in Concord, CA for many years. People loved him: his co-workers and the members of Sam's Club because of his warm and personable attitude and "smile." A former manager of his said, "…William had a smile that would light up any room; so many members would come to Sam's Club just to chat with him; he was so loved. We would talk about the Lord all the time and he would say everything going to be alright; he had Angels on his shoulders." Yes! That was his testimony!
William married Judy Smith (deceased) very early in life and from their union they had two daughters, Gwendolyn S. and Tiffany N. Killings. A second marriage to Cynthia Shuler (deceased) November 1997.
William departed this life on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Highland Hospital after residing at Princeton Manor Healthcare Center in Oakland, CA for nine (9) years. He was preceded in death by: his parents, William and Ernestine Killings; his daughter, Gwendolyn Killings; grand-daughter, Erika Whitmeyer; sister, Yvonne Killings; brother, Elijah Jackson, and Grandmother, Virgia L. Washington. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Tiffany; grandchildren, Imaree Cross, Marcus Alexander, Timera Owens, Tearra Callan (Chad), Anthony Williams, Samantha Woodsum, Jordon Montgomery, Gregory (Killings), Cheyenne Smith, three (3) great-grandchildren; his sisters, Annie, Sarah, and Denise Killings, Juanita Harts (Peneric); and brother, Henry Killings (Lusia).
