Yvonne A. Hurtado passed away suddenly on Monday, August 6, 2012. She influenced and touched many lives with her strength and loving spirit. Yvonne was born in Pittsburg, Ca and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1954. After a lengthy career, in the offices of Dr. Samuel Bernstein, she enjoyed her job working at Time to Travel as a travel agent for 20 years. She traveled the world and retired in 2000.Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jess; devoted children Cindy Hurtado of Pittsburg, Marianne Solis (Art) of Oakley, Jessica Romeo of Brentwood and grandchildren Nicholas Solis (Aaren), Jessica Solis, David May, and Kimberly Hurtado. She is also survived by her sister Claudia Torrano (Ralph) of Antioch and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister who cared immensely for her family and friends. She will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her father Harry Mercurio, mother Mary Scotto Banks, aunt Rose Scotto and mother-in-law Matilde Hurtado. Friends and family are invited to a memorial funeral liturgy on Saturday, August 11, 2012 beginning at 10:00am with services at 11:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd.
