On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully at home.  Yvonne Sandford was born on September 19, 1935 in Tatums, Oklahoma to the late Curtis Sandford and late S.D. Sandford.  She was one of three children.  Yvonne was a member of The Church of God in Christ and accepted Christ at a young age.  Yvonne moved to Phoenix, AZ where she raised her children and met her lifelong companion, Sam Jones, Jr. They relocated to Pittsburg, CA and became members of Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church.  During Yvonne's last 24 years of life, she resided in Turlock, CA with her son, Alvin Sandford. Yvonne enjoyed cooking, attending church, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.  Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; brother Troy Sandford Sr.; life-long companion, Sam Jones Jr.; son Donald McHenry; grand-daughter Mataga Ford, grandson Angel Emanuel Sandford, and nephew Troy Sandford Jr.  She leaves many family and friends to cherish her precious memories.

The home-going celebration will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with a funeral service at 11:00am at the  Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, 2295 Railroad Ave., Pittsburg, CA 94565. Interment services following at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2011 Arnold Industrial Way, Concord, CA 94520.
