It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Matriarch, Zenaida "Zenny" Masinas Mansapit, who peacefully left us at the age of 87. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

She will always be remembered for her boundless generosity, unwavering kindness, and deep love of her family. Her compassionate nature and selfless acts touched the lives of many, leaving an enduring legacy of love, warmth, and caring.

Zenaida was born on July 13, 1936 in Manila, Philippines to Gonzalo (deceased) and Felicidad (deceased) Masinas. She was the oldest sister of nine children, Michael (deceased), Jose, Rudolfo, Lydia, William, Merlie (deceased), Evangeline, and Robert. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1952 aboard the David C. Shank and they eventually settled in Pittsburg, CA.

In 1956 she earned her high school diploma from Pittsburg High School. Then, while raising six children, she also spent a significant part of her life working, starting at the Del Monte Cannery in Antioch, and subsequently at the See's Candies Factory in San Bruno, where she devoted herself until her well-deserved retirement in 2001.

Zenaida married the love of her life, David Tyquiengco Mansapit (deceased) on June 24, 1956 and started a family. Together, they had seven children: David  Mansapit Jr. of Pittsburg, James Mansapit of Pittsburg, Jane "Cookie" Danhi (Victor) of San Rafael, Richard Mansapit (Sheila deceased) of Pittsburg, Robert Mansapit (deceased), Jeffrey Mansapit (Melissa deceased) of Pittsburg, Janet "Wee" Dominguez (Steven) of Star. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

Following the loss of her husband, Zenaida moved to the Rossmoor Senior Living Community in Walnut Creek. She was a vibrant member of the community, known for her warmth and sociability. She forged numerous friendships and actively engaged in various clubs and activities that brought her immense joy.  She loved gardening, hiking, hula dancing, stain glass painting, ceramics, and singing and dancing at the Concerts in the Park.  She enjoyed traveling and became a member of the Rossmoor Travel Group, embarking on memorable journeys to places like Cache Creek, Yellow Stone National Park, Portugal, and Italy. Her enthusiasm for life and active involvement in multiple pursuits left an incredible mark on all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.

Zenaida lived a rich and fulfilling life, finding the greatest joy in the cherished moments spent with family. Her legacy is marked not only by her accomplishments but also by the love and memories she cultivated with her beloved family members, creating a lasting impact that will continue to resonate for generations to come.

V isitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a rosary at 5:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of the World Church. Committal following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.
